This was done by taking a picture of a Bird of Paradise and using the lasso tool, then inverting the selection and applying the Aetherize filter, using the circle selection & modifying, using the Path Edit tool, then the  Zoom Blur effect & finally a Collage filter from FM Tools:

I did this by laying in the fishing ball and lamp, created with various shapes, which I resized, applied various textures to, against a background which was creating by using the circular gradient tool and the colors orange & dark brown.  The book was created w/the paintbrush (straight lines) and the rest of the graphic was done freehand, utilizing airbrush, paintbrush, rake, blur tool and rake. The fishnetting & rope on pulley were done freehand also.
