Guido's Lasagne & Spaghetti Sauce
SPAGHETTI SAUCE:
5 lbs ground beef
3 lbs Italian sausage
8 (64 oz) cans tomato sauce
2 (32 oz) cans tomato puree
2 (3oz) cans tomato paste
fresh sliced or canned mushrooms
2-3 diced onions
2 diced green peppers
2 tbsp minced garlic
Italian Seasoning
parsley
sage
salt & pepper |
LASAGNE: 2 boxes lasagne noodles
2 (16 oz0 cans tomato sauce
Riccotta cheese
Mozzarella cheese |

Hi Hillary here is my recipe for lasagna just like I promised also included is Recipe for Spaghetti Sauce to go
with it!
First start putting your spaghetti sauce together. I start by browning 5lbs. of ground beef and I also cook 3lbs.
of Italian sausage in with the ground beef. I
usually take the casing off the sausage before cooking it. After you have finished browning the ground beef and
sausage drain the grease off and pour into a Big Sauce Pan. Then add your (8) 64oz. cans of tomato sauce along
with (2) 32oz. cans of tomato puree and (2) 3oz. cans of tomato paste.
Stir this all together. Now you can add (2) cans of Mushrooms (if you like) onions, peppers and 2 spoonfuls of
minced garlic also add Italian seasoning, along with sage and parsley. Stir all together and let cook on simmer
till you are ready to serve it. Make sure that you stir it while it is simmering.
Now you are ready to start on the Lasagna. First you can either buy a small or large aluminum roasting pan at the
store, all depends on how many people you will be feeding. If you were wise you save some of the ground beef and
Italian sausage that you have cooked. You will not have to cook any more meat for the Lasagna.
Now cook up two boxes of Lasagna noodles in boiling water, Takes about twenty to thirty minutes for them to cook,
just read the back of the box for instructions.
While your noodles are cooking take the aluminum pan and pour one 16oz. can of tomato sauce in the bottom of it.
When the noodles are done add a layer of noodles on top of the tomato sauce, then a layer of meat, pour another
can of tomato sauce on top of the meat, add another layer of noodles, next come a layer of ricotti cheese along
with mozzarella cheese add another layer of noodles and pour more tomato sauce on top of the noodles add another
layer of meat a layer of noodles another layer of the cheeses and another layer of noodles keep doing this till
you reach the top of the pan.
When you are done put the pan in the oven and let bake for about 45 minutes or until hot. Now you are ready to
serve your guest and enjoy it!!
Don't forget to put the spaghetti sauce on the table, too. You can serve it over the top of the Lasagna!!
